Bulimba Residence

It is not uncommon to be involved in projects where my clients have sold the much-cherished family home and are ready for a fresh change. My client’s previous home was a classic style Queenslander, so they immediately knew their existing furniture would not be suitable for their new multi-level apartment along the Brisbane River.

The brief was to create a modern home that eschewed typical interior trends and offered my clients a sense of individual personality that was unique to them.

This home was split over three levels with each area opening onto one another, so cohesiveness was a priority. I achieved this by carrying through various shades of blue throughout the decorative scheme. Shades of blue were firm favourites of my clients, so navy and aqua blues were chosen for the general living area, turquoise blue for the family room and periwinkle blue for the master suite.

The style of the furnishings was decidedly modern – but importantly incorporating much needed detail. The last thing my clients wanted was a modern home that was cold and devoid of personality.

The result is a modern home that offers high levels of style, comfort and individuality. My clients often happily tell me how different their home is to their neighbours, which for me is the definition of a successful project.
